Our “fair.nah.logisch” initiative in 2023 was recognized and honored
In a comprehensive annual report, we—the fair.nah.logisch team from Hegne Abbey—documented our activities and projects in 2023 and sent it to the Diocesan Office for Creation and the Environment of the Archdiocese of Freiburg.
As a sign of recognition and acknowledgment of our commitment to environmentally responsible purchasing and actions that respect creation, we received the 2023 stickers for our “fair.nah.logisch.” certificates at the monastery and in our facilities.
Those in charge deliberately and happily affixed the sticker to the certificate.
What does the annual sticker on our certificates stand for?
It shows that we’re on the right track to gradually achieve our goals:
Examples of such steps include the “green line” for laundry and cleaning products, more energy-efficient appliances in the monastery kitchen, and a selection of regional foods and beverages at the summer festival.
But the annual sticker also represents all the employees and sisters in the workshops and at the convent for whom their commitment to the care of creation has become a “matter close to their hearts.”
It is also an invitation to everyone to consciously recognize and act upon their own opportunities to protect the environment.
