“fair.nah.logisch” Award

2022 was our first full year with fair.nah.logisch. In February, we diligently sent our first annual report on our project work to Freiburg. And that’s when we realized: we’d actually done quite a bit this year in terms of what we’d planned and implemented for fair.nah.logisch. Here are a few examples from our projects:

At the Maria Hilf Nursing Home:
Switching to “green line” laundry detergents, changing the sourcing of plants and table decorations, switching from an external service providers to the monastery laundry, purchase of flat linens with a green label, and a trial run of cleaning in the St. Angelus residential area using “Sonett”

Marianum Schools:
More Fairtrade products in the candy vending machine and student mentors on the topic of “Sustainable Eating”

Monastery Kitchen and Hotel St. Elisabeth Kitchen:
Minimizing packaging for fruits and vegetables, consolidating orders so they no longer need to be printed, and purchasing energy-efficient cooking appliances. Future suppliers will be selected based on sustainability criteria.

We’re happy to involve our employees in this journey. The summer party was the perfect opportunity to share information about the project and hold a climate quiz. We also provided updates at staff meetings and on the intranet, and organized field trips and facility tours to Sonett and FairFleisch.

Based on this annual report, we received the certificate for 2022 (pink sticker)—and there are four more empty spaces next to it for future years. We still have a lot planned!
