New panoramic display at the water reservoir above Hegne

Clear blue skies all year round, even on overcast days…

Anyone who wants to see for themselves can find confirmation on the new panoramic sign, which was installed a few days ago on the Hochfirst water reservoir overlooking the village and the monastery. The initiative was launched by the Hegner Cultural Association and received financial support for its implementation from the monastery and the Hotel St. Elisabeth. On June 15, 2024, the professionally produced and installed information panel was unveiled during a small ceremony by Mayor Stefan Friedrich and Provincial Assistant Sr. Susanne Bader to the sounds of an alphorn.

With palpable joy, Mr. Lothar Karrer, the chairman of the cultural association, welcomed those in attendance, including the well-known Lake Constance photographer Achim Mende, who created the plaque and gave the interested guests a glimpse into his work. Sr. Susanne Bader also delivered a welcoming address on behalf of the convent on whose property the plaque is mounted, as did Mayor Stefan Friedrich, who did not come empty-handed. He presented Mr. Karrer with a check from the Allensbach Community Foundation for the substantial sum of 1,500 euros.

The magnificent view from the Hochfirst has always been a draw for locals and visitors alike. The panoramic information board now complements this stunning view by informing visitors exactly what they are seeing.
