The “fair.nah.logisch” project is getting a boost from its staff
The monastery has always been on the right track when it comes to caring for creation. We’ve been involved in the fair.nah.logisch project for two years now.
Now, the commitment to sustainability has received a further boost. On Wednesday, September 20, 14 employees were trained as “sustainability scouts.”
The group included employees from all four facilities — Marianum, Hotel St. Elisabeth, the Maria Hilf Nursing Home, and the Theodosius Academy —as well as staff from the Technical Services, the monastery kitchen, housekeeping, the laundry, and administration, along with Sr. Susanne from the monastery.
During this workshop day, we covered an introduction to sustainability, ways to improve, and practical examples for everyday life. The composition of the group proved particularly beneficial, as the exchange of ideas across all areas was truly enriching.
The training session was offered by our purchasing cooperative, PEG, which focuses on sustainability through its PEGreen division. The presenter was Ms. Sarah Knuplez, who was assisted by her assistant, Mr. Vitus Sippel. Ms. Knuplez will continue to guide and support the group with her knowledge and advice.
The newly certified sustainability scouts will play an important role in their respective fields by identifying further opportunities to conserve resources, encouraging change, and inspiring others through their actions and example.
