On July 18, 24 employees celebrating service anniversaries from the Maria Hilf Nursing Home, the Hotel St. Elisabeth, the Marianum, the kitchen, housekeeping, technical services, and central administration were congratulated on a combined total of 365 years of service. Employees were recognized for 10, 15, 20, and in one case even 35 years of service at the Hegne Monastery!
Provincial Superior Sister Maria Paola Zinniel kicked off the ceremony with a quote from Pippi Longstocking: “We’ve never done that before—it’s sure to be a success!” Until now, the honors had been celebrated at the Hotel St. Elisabeth over coffee and cake. This year, they took place during the annual summer festival among colleagues who were clearly delighted to be part of the celebration. This led to lively conversations at many tables about their shared time at the convent and its ministries. Once again, everyone shared the experience that the core values of the Hegne Values Compass—togetherness, openness, trust, and responsibility—are not just words, but are brought to life. As a small token of appreciation, Sister Maria Paola and the Managing Director and Chairman of the Foundation, Professor Dr. Florian Kluger, presented a gerbera and a gift bag filled with products made at the monastery.
