There are two routes leading from the train station to Hegne Abbey and Hotel St. Elisabeth, the Theodosius Academy, the church and crypt, the Maria Hilf nursing home, and the Marianum—or wherever else you’d like to go.
Effective immediately, there are two new routes from the train station in Hegne to Hegne Abbey:
- North of the pedestrian underpass, a newly paved and marked walking and biking path leads eastward conveniently to the Marianum and the Maria Hilf Nursing Home. This path is also a good way to reach the crypt and the church.
- Another walking and biking trail heading west leads to the hotel and to the Theodosius Academy, the administration office, the cemetery, and the monastery gate.
Due to the installation of a high-pressure gas line and other utility lines, the corrugated metal underpass at the monastery parking lot is no longer available and will be demolished in the coming days. This route will remain in place (with minor adjustments) for the next few years.
